About Jillian & The Social Pup Raleigh

Hi, I’m Jillian - the trainer behind The Social Pup Raleigh and the local instructor for Drink With Your Dog® Brewery Manners here in North Carolina.

When I launched this project, my dream was simple: bring dogs and their people together in a relaxed, welcoming environment where we could learn, laugh, and build real community - one brewery at a time. I was nervous to bring something new to the area, but the response was incredible. The enthusiasm from local breweries and dog lovers instantly fueled my passion and reminded me why I love teaching in the first place.

I’ve been working with dogs for as long as I can remember - from teaching obedience, rally  and AKC programs like Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy to handling conformation, agility, dock diving, I’ve spent most of my life helping dogs and their humans understand each other better. 

When I got Benny, my best friend and everyday adventure buddy, everything shifted. I realized what really mattered wasn’t perfect obedience - it was being able to live and explore together. I wanted a dog who could join me for coffee runs, patio dinners, hikes, and brewery afternoons. That mindset inspired me to start teaching real-world training - the kind that makes everyday life easier and more joyful for both ends of the leash.

Every class I teach is built around confidence, connection, and community. My favorite feedback came from a student who said, “You met me and my dog exactly where we were - without judgment - and gave us the tools to succeed.” 

That’s the heart of The Social Pup Raleigh: approachable training, genuine connection, and unforgettable experiences shared between dogs, their humans, and the places that welcome them.
